German Association of Independent Performing Arts

The German Association of Independent Performing Arts is the federal umbrella organisation of all state associations for professional independent performing arts in Germany. Founded in 1990, it is today one of the largest theatre associations in the country.

Members

Members of the association, other professionals and interest spectators are sent our regular newsletter – the OFF-INFORMATIONEN – featuring the latest news on upcoming funding deadlines, political developments, festivals, workshops and seminars, as well as other professional tips and topics.

The Association moreover cooperates closely with various national and international umbrella associations such as e.g.: the International Theatre Institute (ITI), German Council for Culture (Deutscher Kulturrat), Federal Association of Theatre in Public Spaces, Umbrella Association for Dance Germany (Dachverband Tanz Deutschland), the German Puppet Theatre Association, as well as partner associations in Austria and Switzerland.

Board

The board is elected for two years. Its honorary members meet several times during the year to discuss the the association and its members to discuss relevant issues and make decisions.

Our office is located in Kunstquartier Bethanien, a beautiful listed building in Berlin-Kreuzberg . The team of the office is housed on the third floor .
