Berlin Summer University of the Arts: Online Course »Curation and Communication in the Performing Arts«

Communication is crucial for curators: They communicate online and offline with the artists, audience, politicians, and colleagues. Surrounding the topic of communication, we will learn about the necessary communicative skills from experts, discuss strategies, and exchange experiences. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this course will be facilitated online with a mixture of live-sessions, group discussions, and break out sessions in a more leisure atmosphere. Application Deadline: 21.07.2020. Information and application: https://summer-university.udk-berlin.de/?id=432

Experts from different fields will share their knowledge with you and there will be a group discussion after each presentation. One of the experts is Virve Sutinen, Artistic director of the festival Tanz im August. Tanz im August will be presented online as a special edition 2020. The participation in some of the online formats will allow us to discuss digital alternatives to live performances and what makes a curation stand out.

- Curatorial Choices / Artists and Curators (with Virve Sutinen, Artistic Director TiA)
- Audience: Public Relations (with Hendrik von Boxberg, PR consultant)
