November 22nd & 23rd, 2022 at Oyoun, Berlin and online via live stream.
You can register here. Useful Information for the event can be found here. For the detailed programme click here. You will be able to follow the conference in English.
Freelance artists almost always work under precarious conditions. The research project “Systemcheck” takes a scientific look at their situation for the first time, collects reliable data and enters into an exchange with actors. During the conference, you will receive an insight into the state of research project and can contribute your perspective.
On the first day, research results from an interview study as well as from a quantitative survey on the social situation of workers in the independent performing arts will be presented and discussed by representatives from politics, science, associations, and administration. On the basis of these presentations and discussions, we invite artists and experts alike to work on solutions to improve the system in workshops.
On the second day, the workshop results will be discussed. We will take a look beyond national borders and present examples of social security systems for artists from other European countries. In addition, artists will give insights into their artistic research on working conditions in the performing arts, that they conducted as part of the programme “Nationwide Artists Labs” by the Fonds Darstellende Künste.
At the end of the conference, representatives of associations and funding institutions will discuss possibilities for a fair social security system.
We are looking forward to your attendance of the conference! Either live at Oyoun in Berlin or online via live stream!
